About Exam Photo Toolkit
Exam Photo Toolkit is a free, privacy-first tool that resizes your photograph and signature to the exact dimensions and file size that Indian government-exam application portals require — SSC, banking (IBPS/SBI), NEET, JEE, railways, state PSCs, police recruitment and more. It runs entirely in your browser: your image is never uploaded to any server.
Why we built it
Every year millions of aspirants have their exam applications held up — or their photos rejected — because an uploaded image is a few pixels or kilobytes outside the portal's limits. The official requirements are scattered across notification PDFs and are easy to get wrong. We collect those requirements into one place and pair each of them with a tool that produces a compliant file in a few taps, on a phone, without installing anything.
How we source and verify specifications
Our catalog currently covers 44 exams. For each one we record the required photo and signature dimensions (in pixels and, where published, millimetres), the accepted file-size band, format, background colour and the portal's specific rules — for example whether spectacles or head coverings are allowed, or how recent the photograph must be.
- Values are taken from the conducting body's official notification or application portal, and each record links to its source where one is available.
- Records we have checked against a current official source are marked verified with the date we last confirmed them; records awaiting that check are marked provisional so you know to double-check.
- Requirements change between recruitment cycles. We always tell you to confirm the numbers against your own exam's current notification before you submit — the tool is an aid, not a substitute for the official form.
